Lucy grew up under Arasaka Corporation’s control and escaped to survive on her own in Night City. She is quiet, guarded, and always alert — driven by a deep desire for freedom. Her collab quest unfolds inside Somnoire: Night City, a dreamscape built entirely from her own memories. Final Fantasy 7 Revelation fans may recognise the arc — liberation bought at a heavy cost.

Rebecca fights with her signature heavy rifle in the anime; in-game that becomes the Skull Thrasher pistol — chaotic, fast, and hard-hitting Electro DPS. Key Questions Answered

What is Cyberpunk 2077 and why was its launch controversial? +

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world RPG by CD Projekt Red, released December 2020. Players control V — a mercenary in Night City — who becomes entangled with the digital construct of Johnny Silverhand, voiced by Keanu Reeves, after a botched job. The game shipped in a severely broken state on consoles. CD Projekt Red offered full refunds to anyone who asked, and Sony removed it from the PlayStation Store. After years of patches and the Phantom Liberty expansion (2023), the game rebuilt its reputation and player base.

The sole paid DLC released to date remains Phantom Liberty. CD Projekt Red is working on a Cyberpunk sequel — internally referred to as Project Orion or “Cyberpunk 2” — but it remains in early development.

What is Wuthering Waves and who makes it? +

Wuthering Waves is a free-to-play action RPG developed by Kuro Games, not CD Projekt Red. It launched May 2024 on iOS, Android, and PC, later on PlayStation 5. The game surpassed 30 million downloads in its first month and won the Players’ Voice award at The Game Awards 2025. An Xbox Series X/S version with Game Pass support is expected July 2026. The Cyberpunk: Edgerunners crossover is the studio’s first collaboration with a major external IP at this scale.

Is there really a Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2? +

Yes — Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is officially in production. CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger announced it at Anime Expo 2025 on July 4, 2025. The sequel is a standalone 10-episode story set in Night City with an entirely new cast of characters — it does not continue David Martinez’s story. Writer Bartosz Sztybor and Studio Trigger return. The series streams on Netflix. A first public look is scheduled for the Studio Trigger panel at Anime Expo 2026 on July 3. No release date has been set.

Is the event zone actually Night City from Cyberpunk 2077? +

No. Somnoire: Night City is a limited-time event area constructed from Lucy’s memories inside Wuthering Waves’ Somnoire dreamscape. It is styled after Night City’s aesthetic but exists entirely within Solaris-3’s lore framework. The real Night City from Cyberpunk 2077 does not appear. Fans who hoped to explore an accurate Night City in Wuthering Waves noted the distinction, though the visual fidelity to the Edgerunners art direction has been widely praised.

Will there be more Cyberpunk 2077 DLC after Phantom Liberty? +

Official content support for Cyberpunk 2077 ended after Update 2.3, released in 2025. No new expansions for the current game have been announced. CD Projekt Red’s current priorities are The Witcher 3 DLC — Songs of the Past, expected 2027 — The Witcher 4, a Witcher 1 remake, and the early-stage Cyberpunk sequel Project Orion. For other major titles on the gaming calendar, see Destiny 2’s Monument of Triumph update.
