Bungie dropped Destiny 2: Monument of Triumph on June 9, 2026 — the game’s final planned live-service update, version 9.7.0. It’s free for all players across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, and ships with over 17,000 words of patch notes. Servers remain online with no planned shutdown. 🏎️ Sparrow Racing League SRL returns permanently with all four original Destiny 1 tracks plus the new Quantum Circuit map, set in the realm of the Nine. 👹 Pantheon 2.0 The boss-rush activity returns with new bosses, rewards, and an Adventure difficulty that removes the Power cap and enables unlimited revives — ideal for learning encounters. ⚡ Distortions A new patrol-based challenge active on seven destinations. When a Distortion is live on a destination, enemies are tougher and the environment shifts. Public events completed during a Distortion can reward higher gear tier drops. Distortion-specific events add unique loot on top. This gives patrol zones a genuine reason to revisit again. New

🎮 Gambit Gets Ops Gambit now has a dedicated Ops slot in the Director with tiered rewards. Score is driven by mote banking, Primeval summoning, and defeating the Primeval. A team that reaches the Primeval phase earns S grade and Tier 5 gear. Gambit gains a new armor set with set bonus, reprised weapons, plus Bonus Drops and Bonus Focus. New Structure

Every pre-Edge of Fate destination now has a refreshed loot pool — new perks, tiered weapons, and set bonuses connected to that destination’s lore. Crafted weapons move onto the Gear Tier path via the Crafting Table on first login after the patch. Any legendary crafted weapon already in your vault qualifies immediately, no regrinding needed.

The new Weapon Tier Upgrading system lets you spend materials at the weapon inspection screen to push any weapon to the next Gear Tier. Reaching Tier 5 unlocks enhanced perk benefits and unique cosmetics. It cannot add new perks to your columns — if you want more perk choices per column, chasing higher-tier drops naturally still matters. Enhanced Mods have moved from Tier 5 down to Tier 3 as part of this change.

All 25 Exotic weapons that lacked a catalyst now have one. Nine existing catalysts that only offered stat bonuses received actual perks. Vendors Banshee-44, Saint-14, and Zavala can now focus gear from The Edge of Fate, Ash & Iron, and Renegades eras. Full catalyst details on Bungie.net.

All Exotic armor is now Tier 5 and has access to all modern tuning mods. This applies retroactively to every Armor 3.0 Exotic already in your vault — no new drops required (Collections rolls excluded). Six new armor archetypes are also arriving, pairing different stat columns to open up more build variety. The original six archetypes remain earnable.

For cosmetics, every ornament quality — Common through Legendary — can now be applied to any equipped Exotic armor piece. Universal Exotic Ornaments still work alongside these. PvP applies some visual restrictions for readability, but ornaments return to full display on exiting PvP content.

New abilities include three new Aspects bringing every non-Prismatic subclass to four, two new grenades (Stasis Shatter Grenade, Strand Slicewire Grenade), and a new Hunter Nightstalker melee called Phantom Surge. Ward of Dawn was reworked: it now pulls enemies into the dome and its core can be thrown to redeploy the dome in a new position. New Abilities

☀️Titan — Shieldburst Solar Aspect. Barricade launches forward and detonates.

🎯Hunter — Crackshot Solar Aspect. Mark 3 targets, dodge to fire solar rounds at all.

💜Warlock — Soul Siphon Void Aspect. Powered melee siphons energy, grants Overshield.

🌑Hunter — Phantom Surge Nightstalker melee. Dash-slash, bonus vs Void-debuffed targets.

❄️Stasis Shatter Grenade Explodes into ricocheting Stasis shrapnel.

🕸️Strand Slicewire Grenade Bouncing grenade, damages and severs targets.

Iron Banner now runs on a fixed four-week cycle. Control stays as the permanent baseline playlist, swapping to Iron Banner Control during Iron Banner weeks, with one additional IB mode each time it runs. Trials of Osiris continues Friday through Tuesday every weekend, except Iron Banner weeks. Featured map rotation now pulls up to three maps per weekend. Featured weapons drop from a pool rather than a single weekly focus.

Heavy Metal is now a permanent Crucible Ops mode. The Tank, Brig, and new Cabal Behemoth are all selectable before a match via a new vehicle selection screen. Score limit dropped from 50 to 40 for faster matches. A new Nightfall Ruins map was added specifically for vehicle combat.

Arena Collision is a new 4v4 mode built around map control, weapons, and movement. Supers and Special ammo are disabled. Abilities are earned through kills rather than passive regeneration. Players fight over Heavy ammo crates to control the objective, with reduced hip-fire and airborne penalties throughout. All playlists have consolidated into Crucible Ops — the Legacy Crucible node is deprecated.

The Director ReturnsPortal tab is gone. Ops categories are integrated directly into the Director. Raids & Dungeons have a dedicated entry point. Kepler and the Lawless Frontier are now on the Director map. Dungeon Ops is retired.

Vault & LoadoutsVault space up from 1,000 to 1,300 slots. Loadout slots up from 12 to 20. Each loadout slot now saves full build configurations including Artifact perk selections.

Artifacts OverhauledSeven Artifacts (drawn from past seasons) available simultaneously. Simplified three-bucket mod system replaces column-locking. Artifacts save with loadouts. Anti-Champion mods removed from Artifacts entirely.

Anti-Champion Built InAnti-Champion is now baked into weapon archetypes. Support ARs are anti-Overload. Wave-frame Grenade Launchers are anti-Unstoppable. All Precision weapons are anti-Barrier. No Artifact nodes required.

Attune AnywhereAttunement now lives in inventory and works from anywhere including orbit. No vendor visit required to set what gear you want from a given activity or playlist.

Vendor Reputation ReturnsReputation Rank Reward tracks restored for Shaxx, Zavala, Saint-14, Xûr, Banshee-44, and the Drifter. Focus tiered gear at T3 or T4 by Power level. Focusable Armor goes up to T5.

Bright Engram FocusingSpend Bright Dust to focus a Bright Engram into a specific cosmetic category. A focused engram only awards unowned items — shaders, emotes, finishers, or ornaments.

Expanded Exotic OrnamentsAll ornament qualities (Common through Legendary) can now be applied to any equipped Exotic armor in PvE. Some visuals are restricted in PvP for readability; they return on exit.

Gear Tier System — Tap Each Tier

T1 Tier 1 — Common DropStandard perks, base stats ▼

Standard drop from most activities at lower difficulties. Perks are basic. Every weapon in the Gear Tier system — including drops already in your vault — can be upgraded to a higher tier via the weapon inspection screen using upgrade mods.

T2 Tier 2 — ImprovedBetter perk quality over T1 ▼

Improved perk quality over T1. Still worth holding if you hit the exact roll you want — the upgrade path lets you push that specific roll to a higher tier without rerolling.

T3 Tier 3 — Enhanced ModsEnhanced Mods unlock here (new in Monument of Triumph) ▼

New change: Enhanced Mods now unlock at T3, moved down from T5. Vendor focusing drops weapons at T3 or T4 depending on your Power level. All crafted Legendary weapons become T3-eligible immediately on logging in after the patch.

T4 Tier 4 — Multiperk ColumnsMultiple perk options per column ▼

Multiperk unlocks here — you see multiple perk choices per column. Tier Upgrading cannot add perks to columns; it only enhances existing ones. If perk variety matters to your build, chasing natural T4 and T5 drops is still worth the grind.

T5 Tier 5 — Maximum PowerAll enhanced perks + unique cosmetic unlocked ▼

Top tier. Full enhanced perk benefits and access to unique T5 cosmetics. Reachable via Tier Upgrading from any lower tier. Activities are the most consistent natural source of T5 drops. Crafted and Adept weapons can both reach T5 power through their respective upgrade paths.

Boss Rush Unlock Schedule

June 9, 2026 Monument of Triumph Goes Live Update 9.7.0 deploys. Pantheon opens with two activities — first set of boss lineups playable on Standard, Adventure, and Custom difficulties. SRL, Distortions, Gambit Ops, Director overhaul, and all other patch changes go live simultaneously.

June 13, 2026 — Saturday Full Gauntlet Unlocks The third Pantheon activity unlocks at 10 AM PT — the full gauntlet sending players through the complete boss lineup back-to-back. Each multi-boss activity concludes with a vendor offering re-rolls for acquired items using Spoils of Conquest.

June 16, 2026 — Weekly Reset Boss Rotators Begin From this Tuesday reset, Pantheon runs individual bosses on a weekly rotation. Reprise Pantheon encounters have a chance to drop ornaments for their original armor sets — for example, Calus can drop base Leviathan Raid armor ornaments for Guardians who haven’t unlocked them.

Ongoing Trials, Iron Banner & SRL Trials of Osiris runs every weekend (Friday–Tuesday, except Iron Banner weeks). Iron Banner returns every four weeks. SRL is a permanent activity — not a seasonal rotation. Destiny 2 servers remain live with no announced shutdown date.
