GTA 6 Launch Week Sales Forecast: Up to $5.2 Billion

Newzoo data indicates GTA 6 generated approximately $260 million in first-week digital pre-orders, setting an industry record.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. According to tracking data from gaming analytics firm Newzoo, GTA 6 generated approximately $180 million in first-week digital pre-order revenue across the United States and five major European markets (UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain). Considering the historical distribution that around 69% of GTA 5’s lifetime console players were concentrated in these six markets, Newzoo estimates that global first-week digital pre-order spending for GTA 6 reached approximately $260 million.

According to an IGN report, based on comparable pre-order curve projections, GTA 6’s launch week cumulative sales are expected to range between $3.25 billion and $5.2 billion. The game is published by Take-Two Interactive, and industry analysts estimate that its development budget has exceeded $1 billion, making it one of the most expensive video games ever produced.
