Ubisoft’s upcoming game Assassin’s Creed Shadows won’t arrive until March 20, 2025 – its third delay. The game company wants more time to fix issues players spotted during testing.

There’s good news for players though: The game’s first major add-on content, called “Claws of Awaji,” will be free. This is a big change from Ubisoft’s usual practice of charging extra for new content. The DLC will include over 10 hours of new content, including new skills, gear, and a new weapon type.

The delays are hitting Ubisoft hard. The company’s stock value dropped 6% after announcing the new release date. They’re now looking to cut costs by €200 million over the next two years. Their recent Star Wars game didn’t sell as well as they hoped, which led to some of these changes.

Players will get to control two main characters in the game: Yasuke, a samurai warrior, and Naoe, a ninja. But some people have criticized how the game shows Japanese history and culture. The development team had to apologize for using a historical group’s flag without permission.
