League of Legends Patch 26.10 brought more than Summoner’s Rift adjustments. Riot Games addressed two pressure points inside ARAM: Viktor’s ability to snowball off early team fights, and the awkward movement lockout that froze players near the Bilgewater Cannon whenever a teammate used it. Both changes are now live. Meanwhile, the broader gaming calendar keeps moving — Riot’s lead gameplay designer has already posted a preview of what Patch 26.11 will tackle, including a rethink of the support ecosystem in bot lane.
Patch 26.10 — ARAM Changes Breakdown
Viktor passive rework & Bilgewater Cannon quality-of-life fixes
Smoother Scaling, Less Early Burst
Riot removed Viktor’s ARAM-specific damage modifiers and restructured how he earns passive stacks — the goal is a steadier power curve instead of a spike off early kills.
Damage Dealt
ARAM modifier removed — now at baseline.
Damage Taken
Incoming damage penalty removed.
Passive Stacks per Champion Kill
Cuts early-fight acceleration sharply.
Passive Stacks per Cannon Minion
Halved — less minion-wave dependency.
Passive Stack — Time-Based Gain (ARAM Only)
A new passive mechanic exclusive to ARAM maps. Viktor builds toward his power without needing kills — his curve is spread over the full game rather than spiking in the first team fight.
Passive Stack Comparison — See the Change
Select a source to compare old vs new stack amounts.
Champion kill: old method gave Viktor 20 stacks instantly. New value is 8.
Less Lockout, Better Flow
Two separate movement lockouts have been cut or removed entirely in Patch 26.10.
Players no longer freeze after landing from a cannon shot. This restores rotation speed and removes pathing congestion that occurred when multiple players fired in sequence.
Minion Aggro Change Draws Pro Backlash
A tweak to how minions target players in lane has become the most contested part of the patch at the top of the ladder.
Riot altered a long-standing minion aggro interaction in Patch 26.10 — the specifics of which directly affect wave management at the highest levels of play. For casual players the change is largely invisible, but for competitive players and professionals, wave state is one of the foundations of early-game decision-making.
High-Elo players and professional teams reported that the update disrupts established muscle memory built around lane control. Pro rosters rely on precise wave behaviour to time neutral objectives — when the minion response to trades changes, macro strategies built around those timings need recalculating. Teams have been actively adjusting their draft and in-game approaches since the patch went live.
Patch 26.11: Support Ecosystem Under the Microscope
Riot lead gameplay designer Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison posted the Patch 26.11 preview on May 19, 2026 via X. The top priority is rebalancing the support role — making melee and engage supports more viable alongside the ranged enchanters that have dominated bot lane for most of the year.
“Ranged supports have risen to the top of the pecking order. They’re both the best at multiplying ADCs who are strong currently, as well as benefiting the most from being in lane for role quests. Roaming also pays a higher systemic cost as it puts both yourself behind on quest progress and makes it so your ally ADC can’t stack their quest.” — Matt “RiotPhroxzon” Leung-Harrison, Lead Gameplay Designer, May 19, 2026
The role quests introduced at the start of Season 2 have been identified as the structural reason engage supports fell behind. Enchanters complete quests more efficiently by staying in lane and amplify the ADC champions that are strongest in the current meta. Riot’s fix in 26.11 is a systemic buff to the Void Grub reward — increasing the incentive for supports to roam toward the early Grub timing after laning phase ends. This gives tank and engage supports a window to contest objectives with the jungler without the systemic cost being too steep. Buffs are also coming to runes and items associated with melee supports: Aftershock, Guardian, Heartsteel, Knight’s Vow, Locket of the Iron Solari, and Zeke’s Convergence are all in line for adjustments. On the other side, enchanter-favoured items including Moonstone Renewer, Staff of Flowing Water, and Helia are being toned down.
Patch 26.11 is not expected to land until after the Spring Split concludes, so its primary effect will be felt in ranked queues. Full patch notes are due closer to the May 28 release date.
