Grand Theft Auto VI, one of the most anticipated video games in history, might be facing another delay, according to a recent leak. Industry insider Millie A claims that Rockstar Games is considering pushing the release date from May 26, 2026, to September 2026 – adding four more months to fans’ already lengthy wait.
This potential postponement would mark the second delay for GTA 6. Rockstar initially targeted a Fall 2025 launch before announcing earlier this year that the game would arrive on May 26, 2026. While Rockstar has not officially commented on this latest rumor, the possibility has sparked discussions among the gaming community.
The leak doesn’t stop at the release date. Millie A also shared potential pricing details for different editions of the game. According to the information, GTA 6 will launch with three versions: a Standard Edition priced at £69.99 (approximately $70), a Deluxe Edition at £89.99 (around $90), and a Premium Edition at £109.99 (about $110).
What separates these editions? The Deluxe and Premium packages reportedly include early access to GTA Online, with the Premium Edition offering “first access” – presumably meaning players can jump into the online component even earlier than Deluxe buyers.

Financial projections for GTA 6 remain staggering despite the potential delay. Venture capital firm Konvoy estimates the game could generate $7.6 billion in revenue within just two months of release. This would not only cover the game’s reported $2 billion development budget in under 30 days but potentially make it the biggest launch in video game history.
The setting for GTA 6 returns players to Vice City, inspired by Miami, with the environment extending beyond the city to include rural areas reminiscent of Florida’s Everglades. For the first time in the series’ modern era, players will control a female protagonist named Lucia Caminos alongside Jason Duval, with reports suggesting their relationship is inspired by the infamous criminal duo Bonnie and Clyde.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick previously downplayed concerns about further delays. When announcing the May 2026 date, he characterized the postponement as “pretty short,” at “less than six months.” However, Rockstar’s history suggests delays are common for their major releases – Red Dead Redemption 2 was delayed multiple times before launch.
While Millie A has had some accurate leaks in the past, including correctly predicting the existence of LEGO 2K Drive before its announcement, their track record isn’t perfect. They previously shared Hogwarts Legacy information that proved inaccurate, which has led some fans to approach this latest leak with caution.
Industry analysts have noted that September would align with Rockstar’s typical release strategy. Looking at previous Grand Theft Auto titles, only four of the series’ 18 releases launched in spring, with most arriving in fall. Additionally, GTA 5 was released in September 2013, so a September 2026 release for GTA 6 would mirror this pattern. For now, fans will have to wait for official confirmation from Rockstar Games about any potential delay or pricing structure. With the massive anticipation surrounding GTA 6, evidenced by its record-breaking trailer views (over 93 million in 24 hours), any official announcements are sure to make waves throughout the gaming industry.
