The Octagon
Goes Physics
EA Sports UFC 6 drops June 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S — and for the first time in franchise history, two fighters share the cover. Former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira fronts the Standard Edition, while former UFC featherweight and BMF champion Max Holloway takes the Ultimate Edition cover. The headline mechanical addition is a ragdoll physics system that replaces UFC 5’s scripted hit reactions, letting fighter bodies respond to strikes through live physics simulation. The game uses Markerless Capture and the next generation of Sapien Technology for movement authenticity. Two new single-player modes — Hall of Legends and The Legacy — are confirmed for launch, and Ultimate Edition buyers get seven days of early access starting June 12.
Two Covers. Two Champions.
UFC 6 is the first entry in the EA Sports UFC series to split cover duties between two athletes. Each edition gets its own face of the franchise — a shift from prior entries that put a single fighter on the box. For context on how EA structures its major sports releases, see the ongoing PlayStation Store commission lawsuit which sits in the background of every major console game launch in 2026.

What’s Actually New
The Frostbite engine returns from UFC 5, but these systems are new for 2026. If you’re following the broader gaming hardware shift happening in parallel, see our coverage of Call of Duty dropping PS4 and Xbox One support — a reminder of where the industry’s technical baseline is heading.
Legends at Launch & Coming Later
Eight legends total — two available on day one of the Ultimate Edition early access, six to follow as Fighter Pass drops. Randy Couture and Ken Shamrock are the two confirmed at launch, both making their EA Sports UFC series debut. While waiting for the remaining six drops, there’s plenty happening elsewhere — including the Fallout 3 Remastered leak and the Brawl Stars Season 50 events confirmed for this period.
Road to the Octagon
