πŸ—‘οΈ Crimson Desert β€” Patch Coverage

Pywel Keeps Changing: Every Major Update Since Launch

Pearl Abyss launched Crimson Desert on March 19, 2026 β€” and hasn’t slowed down since. The open-world action game passed 5 million copies sold within its first month, and the development team has matched that pace with an aggressive post-launch update schedule. From enemy difficulty settings and fast-travel networks to legendary mounts, tame-able pets, and now full boss-replay systems, the world of Pywel is materially different from what shipped at release. The latest patch β€” version 1.05 β€” lands today with the two most-requested features: Rematch and Re-Blockade. Here’s what’s changed, broken down.

🎯
Difficulty Settings Added
Easy, Normal, and Hard modes now let players adjust enemy health, aggression, and attack speed. Hard mode adds new attack patterns to certain bosses.
πŸ”
Boss Rematch (v1.05)
Light a lantern at any previous boss arena to trigger a rematch. 69 bosses available from today. Two modes: Reminisce (original stats) and Resonate (scales to your level). No extra loot β€” consumables restore post-fight.
🏰
Re-Blockade System (v1.05)
Liberated strongholds can now be recaptured by 13 enemy factions across 23 forts and quarries. Frequency is adjustable in Settings β€” Stable, Conflict (default), or War.
πŸ›‘οΈ
Block & Combat Fixes
Block damage rates adjusted across all weapon types. Character physics corrected during complex combo sequences. Boss stagger and ranged-damage bugs fixed.
⚑
Fast Travel Expansion
Abyss Nexus teleporters added to cities, major settlements, and Greymane Camp β€” none of which had them at launch. You can now fast travel while mounted, swimming, climbing, or falling.
πŸͺ‚
Gliding Stamina Reduced
The stamina cost for flying and gliding has been lowered, making aerial traversal across Pywel more practical for longer distances.
πŸ—ΊοΈ
Map Intelligence
Mineral deposits now auto-mark on the world map when nearby. Unlocked treasure chests, Visione Memory Fragments, and looted hidden caves all receive map indicators. Filters added for landmarks and POIs.
πŸŽ’
Inventory Slots
Players now start with 50 inventory slots. Additional single-slot bags can be bought from vendors; larger bags with up to 10 slots are earned through campaign milestones. Category tabs added for easier browsing.
πŸ•οΈ
Camp Storage
The Greymane Camp tent’s storage chest can now hold up to 1,000 slots depending on camp expansion level. Previously, players had no in-camp storage at all.
πŸͺ΅
Housing Chests
New chest types added for player homes: Sturdy Gatherables Chest (1,000 slots), Wardrobe (100 slots each, stackable to 1,000), Collectibles Chest (1,000 slots via Hernand Request “A Friendly Encounter”), and Kuku Cooler (40 slots for food; upgradeable to 330-slot Enhanced version via “Invention of the Workshop”).
🦌
Snow White Deer
Found near the Sanctum of Solace in Pailune. One of five legendary mounts added post-launch.
🐻
White Bear
Located west of the Five Finger Mountain Valley Ancient Ruins puzzle.
🐐
Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex
Requires completing several Pailune side quests to unlock Longleaf Tribe missions β€” then defeating boss Moren the Mistwood Huntmaster.
🐺
Silver Fang
Unlocked through Hernand side quests leading to a battle with Black Fang. Then locate Silver Fang’s lair in Howling Hollow.
πŸ—
Rock Tusk Warthog
Defeat Ravok of the Savage Fangs, who guards the Bordig Camp in the Crimson Desert region.
🐦
New Pets (v1.05)
Legendary animals Iron Eagle and Hyacinth Macaw added. A new non-tameable creature, the Mountain God Boar, was also introduced. Birds, the Abyss Heuklang, and five new cat types were added in earlier patches.
πŸ›‘οΈ
Damiane’s Skills Improved
Damiane’s Shield Toss now mirrors the effect of Kliff’s Force Palm. She also gained access to Nature’s Snare and Axiom Force β€” usable in both combat and puzzle-solving.
🏹
Oongka’s Skills Improved
Oongka’s Scatter Shot received the same Force Palm effect treatment. Axiom Force and Nature’s Snare added to his moveset as well.
βš”οΈ
New Weapons & Armors
Post-launch additions include the Baltheon Armor for Kliff and the Sword of Starlight for Damiane, expanding gear options for both characters.
πŸ’‘
Puzzle Lighting
Key objects required for puzzle solutions now emit a visible light source, reducing guesswork for new players.
πŸ“Έ
Photo Mode

πŸ”‘
Skill Learning Changed
Players can now choose whether to learn enemy maneuvers β€” watching is no longer mandatory for skill unlocks you don’t want.
βš™οΈ
Refinement Tokens
Refinement Tokens can now temper equipment up to Level 4 without consuming additional crafting materials β€” a meaningful grind reduction.
🟑
Gold Bars Collectible
Gold bars scattered throughout the world, previously unobtainable, can now be picked up and exchanged for silver β€” a quality-of-life fix for completionists.
πŸ›
Bug Fixes
Countless fixes shipped post-launch including missable skills, progression-blocking bugs, NPC trust resets, and legendary mount summon failures.
How the Rematch & Re-Blockade Systems Work
Patch 1.05’s two headline features, explained. Select a mode to see how each one plays out.
πŸ” Rematch
Replay any of 69 bosses, any time
🏰 Re-Blockade
Strongholds recaptured by enemy factions
How Rematch Works: Return to any previous boss arena and light the lantern there. This activates the Memory Fragment and lets you choose your mode. Reminisce spawns the boss at its original campaign stats. Resonate scales the boss to match your current character progression β€” but only if you’ve grown stronger since you first fought them. Consumables used during the fight are restored when it ends, and no extra loot drops. Any of the three characters β€” Kliff, Oongka, or Damiane β€” can be used.
