The Gothic Trilogy Is Finally Coming to PlayStation & Xbox
THQ Nordic has confirmed release dates for all three Gothic Classic games on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One — rolling out in stages from July through November 2026. A full remake of the first game, Gothic 1 Remake, arrives even earlier on June 5, 2026. The series was originally developed by now-defunct German studio Piranha Bytes, and its influence shaped some of the biggest RPGs of the modern era — including titles that defined PlayStation’s storytelling legacy.
When Each Game Drops
THQ Nordic is rolling out the trilogy in three separate releases across 2026, each priced at $29.99 / €29.99. Pre-ordering the Gothic 1 Remake on consoles gives you immediate access to Gothic Classic at no extra cost.
Choose Your Camp
The original Gothic drops you into a prison colony where three factions are fighting for control — and you have to pick a side. Tap each camp to learn what they stand for.
The most powerful faction in the colony, controlling the ore trade with the outside world. The Old Camp is run by the ore barons and enforced by their mercenary guards. Joining them gives you access to the colony’s political muscle — but you’ll be working for people who don’t have your best interests at heart.
A breakaway faction that wants to destroy the magic barrier and escape the colony. The New Camp collects water — the colony’s other currency — and funds research into dismantling the barrier. It’s run by outlaws and mages with a shared goal of getting out, not just surviving.
The most unusual of the three factions. The Sect Camp worships a mysterious being known as the Sleeper and believes it will free them from the colony. Members follow a strict spiritual code, eat no meat, and cultivate a mind-altering plant called swampweed. Their motives are the hardest to read — and their path is the most unpredictable.
