After a rocky past, Cyberpunk 2077 has made its way to PlayStation Plus as part of Sony’s 15th anniversary celebration of the subscription service. The once-troubled game is now available to all PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members starting July 9, marking a significant turning point for CD Projekt Red’s sci-fi RPG.
When Cyberpunk 2077 first launched in 2020, it suffered from serious technical problems that led Sony to remove it from the PlayStation Store and offer refunds. Fast forward to 2025, and the game has been transformed through numerous updates into what many consider one of the best RPGs available today.
The version available to PlayStation Plus members includes all updates released since launch. These updates fixed bugs, added new missions, vehicles, and quality-of-life improvements. PS5 players benefit from 4K visuals, ray tracing, and faster load times thanks to the console’s SSD. The game also makes use of the DualSense controller’s features like adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.

While the base game is now included with PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscriptions, the Phantom Liberty expansion isn’t part of the package. However, PlayStation Plus members can get a 30% discount on the expansion until July 23 as part of the anniversary celebration.
Beyond Cyberpunk 2077, the July lineup includes several other notable titles. Abiotic Factor, launching directly into the service on July 22, offers a multiplayer survival experience where up to six players work together as scientists fighting against strange creatures in an underground research facility. The game blends crafting mechanics with a 90’s sci-fi style.
Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, a story-driven action-RPG set in 17th-century North America, joins the service on July 15. Players take on the roles of ghost-hunters Antea and Red, dealing with supernatural threats while navigating their personal relationship.
