Square Enix dropped its mobile game Kingdom Hearts Missing Link on May 14, 2025, while announcing a three-year business restructuring plan. The mobile project had been in development since 2019, faced termination after multiple beta tests.

“Although we worked hard on developing and adjusting the game in the hope that it would be enjoyed by lots of players, we determined that it would be difficult for us to offer a service that players would find satisfactory over a long period of time,” stated the development team’s official announcement.
