As God of War approaches the final month of its 20th anniversary year in March 2026, Santa Monica Studio delivered one last major surprise during the State of Play presentation on February 12, 2026. The studio confirmed that the original God of War trilogy is being remade, with legendary voice actor TC Carson returning to bring Kratos to life once again.
The announcements celebrated over two decades since God of War launched on PlayStation 2 in March 2005. Sony Santa Monica used this milestone to give fans two major reveals: the Greek trilogy remake currently in early development, and God of War Sons of Sparta, a brand-new 2D action platformer developed in partnership with Mega Cat Studios that became available immediately on PlayStation 5.
