Your April 2026 Free Games Are Here
Three games across all PS Plus tiers — here’s everything you need to know before April 7.
Sony’s PlayStation Blog officially confirmed the April 2026 PS Plus lineup on April 1. All three titles — Lords of the Fallen, Tomb Raider I–III Remastered, and Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream — go live on Tuesday, April 7 and stay claimable until Monday, May 4. Every subscriber — whether on Essential, Extra, or Premium — can claim all three. Once added to your library, they remain accessible as long as your subscription stays active.
Before the new games arrive, March’s lineup exits on April 6. If you haven’t yet grabbed PGA Tour 2K25, Monster Hunter Rise, Slime Rancher 2, or The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road, open your PlayStation Store now. Meanwhile, Sony has also adjusted PS5 Pro and PlayStation Portal pricing globally this month — making this free lineup an especially useful addition for subscribers.

Lords of the Fallen
Developed by Hexworks — a studio founded by CI Games in 2020 — and published by CI Games, Lords of the Fallen is a dark fantasy action RPG built on Unreal Engine 5. It launched on October 13, 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Despite sharing a name with the 2014 original, this is a full reboot of the franchise with a completely new world and story.
Players take on the role of a Lamp Bearer in the dark fantasy world of Mournstead, tasked with cleansing the realm before the demon god Adyr makes his return. The game’s defining feature is its dual-realm mechanic: using a magical lantern, players shift between Axiom (the realm of the living) and Umbral (the realm of the dead). Each world is fully explorable and interconnected. The game world is five times larger than the 2014 original.
Nine character classes are available at the start, with a wide range of weapons and build options to suit different playstyles. The game sold over one million units in its first ten days and had been played by over four million players by January 2025. A sequel — Lords of the Fallen 2 — was announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live in August 2025 and is expected in 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Epic Games. Now is a practical time to start the original.
Tomb Raider I–III Remastered
Developed by Aspyr in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics, Tomb Raider I–III Remastered packages Lara Croft’s first three adventures — originally released in 1996, 1997, and 1998 — with updated visuals, AI-upscaled textures, and new lighting, all while letting players switch to the original polygonal look at any time. All expansions and secret levels are included: Tomb Raider I + Unfinished Business, Tomb Raider II + The Golden Mask, and Tomb Raider III + The Lost Artifact. The collection originally launched in February 2024.
In March 2026, Aspyr and Crystal Dynamics released a free Challenge Mode update for the collection. It adds 10 new outfits for Lara — each with 25 upgraded abilities across the set — level difficulty customisation options, and 15 new trophies. The developer states the update adds over 40 hours of replayability. The update also arrived alongside the game’s debut on Nintendo Switch 2, iOS, and Android. This is the only title in April’s lineup that’s also available on PS4, making it accessible to a wider range of subscribers. An upcoming Tomb Raider remake is separately in development.
Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream
Developed by Dimps Corporation and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, SAO Fractured Daydream launched on October 3, 2024 across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The story is set in a distorted version of the SAO world following the Galaxia Incident — a system malfunction that pulls characters from across all SAO timelines into one space. Kirito leads the effort to stabilise the timeline alongside familiar faces and enemies from across the franchise.
The game’s co-op structure allows up to 20 players to take on raids and boss battles together. The base roster includes over 21 playable characters drawn from across the SAO anime and movie series (Seasons 1–3 and films). Each character belongs to a unique fighting class. Steam user reviews sit at 63% positive overall. The game is best suited to SAO fans and players who enjoy co-op raid gameplay. April 2026 is also shaping up as a busy month for multi-platform gaming more broadly.
