RE Requiem Parlor Upgrade Strategy Guide

Parlor Upgrade Strategy Guide

Master Grace’s survival with strategic Antique Coin spending in Rhodes Hill Care Center

In Resident Evil Requiem, FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft faces threats inside the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center. The Parlor room on the first floor serves as your upgrade hub, where Antique Coins become the currency for survival. Every coin you collect translates into permanent enhancements that improve your chances against infected enemies and environmental hazards.

Released on February 27, 2026, Requiem marks Leon Kennedy’s return alongside new protagonist Grace. While Leon’s sections focus on action-oriented gameplay, Grace’s experience demands careful resource management and strategic upgrade choices. The Parlor system ensures every coin spent matters for your playthrough.

This guide helps you maximize Antique Coin efficiency, prioritize upgrades based on your playstyle, and locate every coin in the Care Center. Whether you need more inventory space or better combat capabilities against increasingly dangerous enemies, the right upgrade sequence transforms your survival odds.

Antique Coin Locations

1F First Floor Locations
Central Hall Guard Office: 1 coin on the desk beside the door. Accessible early in your exploration of the facility.
West Wing Parlor: 2-3 coins total. Find 1 on the roulette table and 1-2 on the bar counter. Destroy the crate near the counter to reveal a hidden coin.
Northwest Corridor: 1 coin on a table just past the Filing Room. Easy to overlook if you move quickly through this area.
East Wing Waiting Room: 3 coins here. Find 2 inside a safe that’s already pried open near the entrance, and 1 on a table at the opposite side of the room.
East Wing Staircase: 1 coin on a table at the bottom of the steps, near a Mr. Raccoon collectible. Another coin can be found by destroying a vase on a chest of drawers beneath the same stairs.
East Wing Examination Room: 3 coins from a locked safe. Combination: Right 30, Left 10, Right 50. One of the more valuable early finds in the Care Center.
2F Second Floor Locations
East Wing Nurse’s Station: 1 coin on top of a locker. Climb on a medical tray to reach it. Be cautious as the Girl stalks you throughout this level.
Bar & Lounge – Piano: 1 coin on top of the piano in the lounge area. Be aware of infected in the vicinity.
Bar & Lounge – Singer Zombie: 1 coin dropped by the Singer zombie after elimination. This enemy requires careful combat strategy and takes more damage than standard infected.
Bar & Lounge Safe: 3 coins from the locked safe. Combination: Left 10, Right 80, Left 30. High-value coin location.
Conference Room Counter: 1 coin on a counter near the entrance doorway. Found after encountering the Chunk monster.
Conference Room – Singer Zombie: Another Singer zombie drops 1 coin when defeated in this area.
Chunk Boss Reward: 4 coins dropped after defeating Chunk. If you reload after obtaining the Eye Spy charm, Chunk drops coins instead on subsequent defeats.
BOSS Chunk Boss Strategy
First Encounter: Chunk appears as a formidable obstacle that can squeeze through narrow openings. The boss can instantly kill Grace through crushing or decapitation attacks.
Combat Strategy: While evasion is often the practical choice due to limited ammo, defeating Chunk rewards the Eye Spy charm and 1,000 challenge points through the “Grace and Goliath” challenge.
Coin Farming Technique: After defeating Chunk and looting the Eye Spy charm, reload an earlier save. The charm remains in your item box. Kill Chunk again to receive 4 Antique Coins instead of the charm on subsequent defeats.
Completion Reward: The Eye Spy charm increases your chance of surviving fatal damage, providing a defensive advantage throughout your playthrough.
EXIT Courtyard Final Coin
Last Chance Coin: After inserting the three Quartz gems into the Central Door and exiting to the Courtyard, walk down the large rounded staircase. Turn around immediately and look under the stairs at the patio furniture. The final Antique Coin sits on the back right armchair on the western side. This can be retrieved while carrying Emily.
Important: Do not proceed through the Courtyard gates until you have collected all coins you need. You cannot return to the Care Center after completing the quartz puzzle.

Survival Tips

🎒
Always Buy Hip Pouch First
Inventory management defines survival horror. The two extra slots prevent difficult decisions about what to drop. You’ll carry more healing items, backup weapons, and critical key items without constant backtracking to item boxes.
💊
Prioritize Health Over Damage
Steroids offer better value than Stabilizers early on. Extra health lets you survive mistakes and take calculated risks exploring dangerous areas. Damage upgrades matter more after you’ve expanded your weapon arsenal.
🔐
Safe Combinations Matter
Safes contain 6 coins total across both floors. Right 30, Left 10, Right 50 for the Examination Room. Left 10, Right 80, Left 30 for the Bar & Lounge. These high-value locations accelerate your upgrade path.
👹
Consider Fighting Chunk
While intimidating, Chunk drops valuable rewards. The Eye Spy charm and 4 coins make the fight worthwhile if you have sufficient ammo. Learn attack patterns and use the environment strategically.
🩸
Save Override Manual for Later
The Blood Collector upgrade becomes valuable only after learning advanced crafting recipes. Early game has limited crafting options. Focus on immediate survival upgrades before investing 6 coins here.
🎯
Explore Every Corner
The Care Center hides coins in unexpected places. Check behind crates, on top of furniture, and inside partially opened containers. Several coins require climbing or destroying obstacles to access.

The Parlor upgrade system in Resident Evil Requiem was discussed throughout this guide. Antique Coin locations across both floors of the Rhodes Hill Care Center were detailed, including specific room locations and safe combinations. The four available upgrades—Hip Pouch, Steroids, Stabilizer, and Override Manual—were covered with their respective costs totaling 17 coins.

Strategic purchasing recommendations were provided, with the Hip Pouch identified as the priority upgrade for inventory expansion. The Chunk boss encounter was examined, including the coin farming technique through save reloading. Safe combinations for the Examination Room and Bar & Lounge were listed for accessing high-value coin caches.

Players were reminded that the Care Center cannot be revisited after completing the quartz puzzle. All 20-22 Antique Coins available in Casual and Normal difficulties were accounted for across the guide’s location descriptions.
