Seven drops covering six PlayStation franchises are getting the Magic: The Gathering treatment in a new crossover announced for late October. The “Secret Lair x PlayStation Superdrop” will bring characters from hit games like The Last of Us, God of War, and Uncharted to the popular trading card game.
Launching October 27, 2025, at 9 a.m. PT, the collection features unique cards depicting PlayStation’s iconic characters reimagined for Magic: The Gathering. Each drop costs $39.99 for non-foil versions and $49.99 for premium foil editions.
The collaboration spans seven different Secret Lair drops, each focused on specific PlayStation franchises. Characters revealed so far include Ellie and Joel from The Last of Us, Kratos and Atreus from God of War, Nathan Drake from Uncharted, Aloy from Horizon Forbidden West, and Jin Sakai from Ghost of Tsushima.
Neil Druckmann, Studio Head at Naughty Dog, highlighted the team’s excitement about the project: “We have so many longtime Magic: the Gathering fans at Naughty Dog, so it was an awesome experience to work with the Wizards on the Coast team to bring these cards to life.”
The cards aren’t just for collecting. Wizards of the Coast confirms all new-to-Magic cards in these drops will be legal for play in Commander, Legacy, and Vintage formats. This means players can actually use PlayStation characters in their decks. For players who miss the initial online release, Wizards has confirmed that non-foil versions will eventually be available at local game stores that participate in the Wizards Play Network (WPN).
Santa Monica Studio’s Cory Barlog explained how the cards capture the essence of their games: “The way Kratos works in each drop is unique to where he was at each stage in the God of War timeline. Plus, you throw in the additional interaction with Atreus, and you have something we think fans are truly going to love.”

The God of War drops show this attention to detail by splitting into two packs – one focused on Kratos during his Greek saga, and another featuring the father-son dynamic from the Norse-themed games.
Jason Connell, Creative Director at Sucker Punch Productions, emphasized how Jin Sakai’s card captures the character’s journey: “It was important for us to have Jin’s iconic silhouette represented along with the emotional arc of his journey from samurai to Ghost.”
This PlayStation collaboration is part of Magic’s expanding “Universes Beyond” initiative, which has previously featured franchises like Fallout, Assassin’s Creed, and Sonic. The program continues to grow, with Marvel, The Hobbit, and Star Trek sets planned for 2026.
Collectors should note that this is separate from the “Secret Scare Superdrop” featuring Jaws, The Office, Furby, and Iron Maiden, which releases earlier on October 13. Players interested in purchasing these limited-quantity drops should mark their calendars for the October 27 release. The cards will be available through the Magic Secret Lair website at 9 a.m. PT (12 p.m. ET / 9:30 p.m. IST / 5 p.m. BST / 6 p.m. CEST). For those who prefer shopping at local game stores, the non-foil versions will be available at WPN locations at a later date, though specific timing hasn’t been announced.
