Game designer Hideo Kojima revealed the first poster for his new PlayStation game “Physint” during Kojima Productions’ 10th-anniversary event. This marks Kojima’s return to the spy action genre he pioneered with Metal Gear Solid.

The poster shows only the silhouette of the main character, whose identity remains a mystery. While the lead actor hasn’t been announced, Kojima introduced three confirmed cast members: Don Lee (also known as Ma Dong-seok) from “Train to Busan,” Charlee Fraser from “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” and Minami Hamabe from “Godzilla Minus One.”

Kojima explained that the 2023 actors’ strike delayed casting for the main role. The poster features the tagline “Here comes the feeling,” suggesting an emotional experience for players.

PlayStation’s commitment to the project was clear when Herman Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios, appeared via video to support the game. This reinforces that Physint will be a PlayStation exclusive.

The technology behind Physint remains partly unclear. Some reports claim it will use an improved version of the Decima Engine (used in Death Stranding), while others say the engine hasn’t been confirmed yet. Kojima has previously described Physint as blending games and movies, saying, “If your mother walks in on you playing this game, she’ll think you’re watching a movie.”

Fans will need patience, as Kojima confirmed Physint is 5-6 years away from release – putting it around 2030 at the earliest. The game is still in its early planning stages, with Kojima working on it alone while his studio focuses on finishing OD, which will release before Physint goes into full development.

The anniversary event also included new footage of OD and an announcement about a Death Stranding anime, showing how Physint fits into Kojima Productions’ overall creative schedule.
