Rocket League‘s Season 18 launches March 14, introducing a futuristic theme that brings players into tomorrow’s soccar battlefield. The update introduces the sleek Futura Garden arena, new car bodies, expanded mutator options, and a voice reporting system to improve the community experience.
The Futura Garden Experience
The centerpiece of Season 18 is the Futura Garden arena – a striking vision of the future with towering blue-and-white skyscrapers creating an immersive backdrop for matches. The arena’s design represents a significant aesthetic shift from previous locations, giving players a fresh competitive environment with “magnificent vistas” according to Psyonix.
When hitting the crossbar or goal posts, players will now hear a distinct “ping” sound that echoes throughout the arena. This new audio cue helps teams avoid premature celebrations when a shot nearly misses – a small but meaningful quality-of-life improvement.

New Wheels to Drive
Season 18’s Rocket Pass Premium immediately unlocks the Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack Car Body, described by developers as a “timeless lean mean machine.” This vehicle uses the Dominus hitbox for players who prefer that handling style.
For those who progress through Premium tiers, the Azura Car Body awaits in later levels, utilizing the Breakout hitbox. Both cars support cross-game ownership between Rocket League and Fortnite.
Additional Premium rewards include the Space Tower Antenna, Spaceship Topper, and Waypoint Trail, all fitting the season’s high-tech aesthetic. For players who don’t purchase Premium, the free Future Fashion Banner is automatically unlocked just for logging in during Season 18.

Gameplay Revolution: Mutator Overhaul
The update significantly expands customization options for Exhibition Mode and Private Matches with ten new mutators:
- Jumps: Increase jump count to double, triple, or even octuple jumps (or remove jumping entirely)
- Multiple Balls: Choose between one, two, four, or six balls in play simultaneously
- Ball Gravity: Adjust gravity to low, high, super, or default settings
- Dodge Timer: Modify the time allowed between dodges
- Scoring Options: New point systems for possession, demolitions, normal goals, aerial goals, and assists
Players can also enable “Enforce Territories,” which divides the field with a Split Shot wall, demolishing anyone who touches the ground on the opponent’s side.

Community Safeguards: Voice Reporting
Season 18 introduces a comprehensive voice reporting system similar to Fortnite’s existing feature. Players can now submit audio evidence when reporting violations of community rules, giving moderators better tools to address toxic behavior in voice chat.
“This will help us take action against players using voice chat to bully, harass, discriminate, or engage in other inappropriate behavior,” Psyonix explains in the release notes. The feature represents a significant step toward creating a more positive environment.

Tournament Rewards Go Retro-Future
Season 18’s tournament rewards blend retro and futuristic aesthetics with a disco theme. Players can earn items like the Disco Ball Boost, Disco Floor Trail, and the impressive Disco Party Goal Explosion that transforms “the whole arena into a disco party.”
For those who prefer medieval aesthetics in their future, the Knighted Topper offers an interesting contrast to the season’s otherwise futuristic style.
