Marvel Rivals is set to launch its fourth season on September 12, bringing several major additions to the popular team-based shooter. Season 4, titled “Heart of the Dragon,” will introduce a new hero, map, game modes, and expand to the PS4 platform.
Angela, described as a “flying Vanguard,” joins the roster at launch. She wields weapons made from “Ichors,” a liquid metal she can reshape during battle. Angela can form a spear for diving into enemy lines, a shield to block damage, and dual axes for powerful attacks. Her aerial mobility makes her the game’s first Vanguard character who can truly take to the skies.
Daredevil will follow later in Season 4.5, with the game’s storyline revealing him as Dizang, ruler of the Eighth City. While his specific abilities haven’t been detailed yet, the character appears to fit into a more aggressive role based on trailer footage.
The new Convergence map, “K’un-Lun: Heart of Heaven,” arrives on September 25, two weeks after the season begins. This map ties directly into the game’s evolving story, where the “Seven Capital Cities of Heaven” are being drawn together by a temporal disturbance. The narrative centers on Shou-Lao, an immortal dragon now in a deep slumber, creating an opportunity for Doctor Doom to pursue the dragon’s “Chronal Chi” power.
PlayStation 4 owners can join the action on September 12, marking a significant platform expansion nine months after the game’s initial release. This move stands out as other popular online games like Genshin Impact and PUBG have begun ending support for PS4, raising questions about potential performance issues when last-gen and current-gen players share the same matches.
