League of Legends players have two big pieces of news to digest this week: the announcement of a limited-edition Worlds 2025 collector’s box and widespread server issues causing frustration across the gaming community.
Riot Games will release the “Worlds Unlocked 2025” collector’s edition on October 9 for $99 through their official Merch Store. The special box, presented by Opera GX, celebrates 15 years of League of Legends esports with a unique unboxing experience featuring a replica Nexus that rises from the top when opened.
The collector’s box includes several physical items: wind-up minion figures, a Scuttle Crab plush, a HyperX Pulsefire Haste gaming mouse with a Worlds-themed mousepad, a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon multitool and lanyard, and a Worlds 2025 pin set. Players in China will also receive exclusive LPL trading cards.
Digital rewards come packed with the box too. Buyers will receive the Trials of Twilight event pass, a Trials of Twilight Xin Zhao skin with an unlocked chroma, an unvaulted Worlds skin capsule containing past Championship skins, and exclusive emotes and icons, including Opera GX’s “Quit Being Boring” emote.
For card game enthusiasts, Riot will also release a Riftbound bundle featuring a Panda Teemo promotional card, three special battlefields, a foiled deckbox, and a matching playmat. Additional Worlds 2025 merchandise inspired by the Trials of Twilight theme will drop on October 13.

While fans may be excited about the new collectibles, many players spent the weekend dealing with serious connection problems. Over October 5-6, League of Legends servers experienced widespread issues with lag spikes, high ping, and mass disconnections that affected ranked matches across multiple regions.
Players shared their frustrations on social media and Reddit. One player, RhyJadestorm, posted on X (formerly Twitter) about a game where “8/10 people had connection issues.” Another user, beanut722, shared a video showing their character completely unable to move during a ranked match, writing: “I WANT MY LP BACK,” referring to the League Points lost due to the disconnection.
Many players reported uneven impacts, with some teams experiencing more disconnections than others, leading to unfair advantages. Some players also complained about receiving AFK (Away From Keyboard) penalties despite the disconnections being beyond their control.
Adding to player frustration, several Reddit threads about the server issues were reportedly removed by moderators, though screenshots circulating online show dozens of posts detailing connection problems.
Riot Games eventually acknowledged the problems on their status tracker, stating: “We’re aware of a problem causing players to disconnect from their games and are investigating the problem.” However, they provided no estimated time for a fix.
Players affected by disconnections should document their match IDs, timestamps, and region information, then submit tickets to Riot Support describing their issues. While there’s no guarantee of compensation, keeping records of affected matches may help if Riot decides to address LP losses.
With Worlds 2025 approaching, fans hope Riot will resolve these server issues quickly to ensure smooth gameplay during one of the biggest esports events of the year.
