Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 3 launches April 2 at 9AM PT with a massive content drop across multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone modes. The update will bring back a fan-favorite map, add new weapons from Modern Warfare 2019, and introduce an unexpected crossover with Jay and Silent Bob.

Warzone players will need to wait an extra day, as Verdansk returns on April 3 at 9AM PT after a 24-hour downtime period.

Multiplayer Map Highlights

The remastered Firing Range map headlines the multiplayer update. This Black Ops 1 classic returns with updated visuals while maintaining its core layout. Players will once again battle for control of the Tower, Shoot House, and Garage vantage points while avoiding the dangerous crossfire along the central Road area.

Season 3 also introduces two brand new maps at launch:

  • Barrage: A medium-sized 6v6 map set in a Vietnam artillery base from 1968
  • Nomad: A smaller map for both 6v6 and 2v2 modes set in Afghanistan featuring a missile carrier and ruins

Two additional maps will arrive mid-season: Haven (a KGB safehouse) and Signal (an ocean rig numbers station with submarine bays). A special Nuketown variant called “Blazetown” will also appear for a limited time later in the season.

Classic Game Modes Return

Two fan-favorite modes are making a comeback:

Sharpshooter returns as a free-for-all party mode where players must adapt to weapons that change every 45 seconds. Players earn bonuses for elimination streaks, including increased movement speed, faster reloading, and double score for eliminations.

Demolition also returns, pitting teams against each other to attack or defend two bomb sites. The attacking team must destroy both bomb sites to win, while defenders need to run down the clock or defuse planted bombs.

A new limited-time mode called “Joint Operations” will arrive mid-season, cycling through five game modes with unusual effects like double health, low gravity, visual hallucinations, and third-person view.

Weapons from Modern Warfare Return

Season 3 brings back popular weapons from Modern Warfare 2019, including:

  • Kilo 141 Assault Rifle: Available free to anyone who logs into Warzone during Season 3
  • CR-56 AMAX Assault Rifle: Unlockable through Battle Pass (Page 6)
  • HDR Sniper Rifle: Unlockable through Battle Pass (Page 3)
  • Kali Sticks Melee Weapon: Earned through the Return to Verdansk event

The update also adds the Monolithic Suppressor attachment, known for its sound suppression and increased damage range.

Two additional weapons will arrive later in the season: the Ladra submachine gun and the Nail Gun special weapon, both earned through in-game events.

Jay and Silent Bob Join the Fight

In one of the more unusual crossovers for Call of Duty, filmmaker Kevin Smith’s characters Jay and Silent Bob will be available as operator bundles in the store. Players can choose their classic looks or their comic book superhero alter-egos, Bluntman and Chronic.

The Jay and Silent Bob bundle includes two weapon blueprints with blue and yellow tracers: the “Doobie Wreck” LW3A1 Frostline Sniper Rifle and “Golden Calf” Kompakt 92 SMG. The Bluntman and Chronic bundle features three weapons with pink and purple tracers and “Joint Leaf Death FX”: the “Bluntman Stuntman” Krig C Assault Rifle, “Chronic Unapologetic” Jackal PDW SMG, and the “Bong Staff” Bo Staff.

Zombies Mode Gets Darker

The new Zombies map, Shattered Veil, takes players to Colton Hall mansion to recover the Sentinel Artifact and rescue Agent Maxis. The map introduces two new enemy types: the Elder Disciple, which can empower nearby zombies, and Toxic Zombies that explode and leave acid pools.

Two classic Wonder Weapons return: the Ray Gun Mark II (with three new variants) and the Wunderwaffe DG-2, which fires chain-lightning blasts. The Double Tap perk also makes its first appearance in nearly a decade, increasing weapon fire rates and potentially dealing double damage through its augments.

A new Team Cranked mode gives the entire team a shared timer that can only be replenished by eliminating zombies. As rounds progress, the maximum timer decreases by 1 second every round, creating increasing pressure.

Ranked Play Updates

Season 3 brings a new Ranked Play competitive season with rewards including weapon blueprints and calling cards. A new “rejoin” feature allows players who disconnect to return to matches within five minutes, with teammates receiving reduced SR loss if they ultimately lose after a player rejoins.

Free Trial and Launch Schedule

A 24-hour free trial of Black Ops 6 multiplayer and Zombies content begins April 2 at 9AM PT, giving everyone access to the new Season 3 content.

The full launch schedule is:

  • April 2, 9AM PT: Black Ops 6 Season 3 launch (Multiplayer and Zombies)
  • April 2-3: Warzone offline for 24 hours during Verdansk preparation
  • April 3, 9AM PT: Verdansk returns to Warzone

With five multiplayer maps, the return of Firing Range, new weapons, Zombies content, and an unusual crossover with Jay and Silent Bob, Season 3 represents one of the larger content drops for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 since its release.
