The world of medieval Bohemia returns this February as Warhorse Studios launches their next chapter in historical gaming. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II arrives February 4, 2025, bringing players back to a time when swords clashed in historically accurate combat based on real medieval techniques.
“We’re looking at a purely current-gen release on Xbox Series X, Series S, PlayStation 5, and of course PS5 Pro,” states the developer Warhorse Studios. This means better graphics, smoother movement, and a world twice as large as the original game. Players will explore two massive regions, Trosky and Kuttenberg, each carefully built to match real 15th century Czech Republic.
Think of it like stepping into a detailed recreation of medieval life. Instead of fantasy dragons and magic spells, you’ll experience what medieval life was really like. The game lets you engage in activities like transporting food for coin, working as a blacksmith, and brewing potions. Every action is designed to be authentic – your character’s attire and stats directly influence how others respond to you and how well you perform various tasks.
The developer’s dedication to historical accuracy shows in every detail. When you’re in a sword fight, it uses a first-person dueling system based on real historical techniques. The combat requires careful timing of directional attacks, blocks, parries, and ripostes, making each battle a test of skill and strategy.
The game runs differently depending on your gaming system. On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, you can choose between two modes: a 30fps fidelity mode running at 1440p, and a 60fps performance mode at 1080p. Both use AMD’s FSR 2.1.2 technology to upscale to 4K resolution. Think of it as choosing between enhanced visual detail or smoother motion.
