Death Stranding 2: On the Beach grabbed the top spot on the PlayStation 5 download charts for June 2025 in the US and Canada, while sports title Rematch claimed first place in Europe. These new releases have changed the rankings that were led by racing game Forza Horizon 5 in May.
Grand Theft Auto V continues to show impressive staying power. The game ranked second in the US/Canada and third in Europe for June, proving that players still love this nearly 12-year-old title despite dozens of newer games being released.
Elden Ring Nightreign, which made a strong entrance in May, held its position in the June charts at third place in the US/Canada while slipping slightly in European rankings. Minecraft also stayed in the top 10 across both months, showing its lasting appeal.
For PlayStation 4, Star Wars Battlefront II dominated the June charts in both regions, continuing its strong performance from May. Red Dead Redemption 2 kept the second spot in both US/Canada and Europe for the second month in a row.
The PlayStation VR2 charts saw changes in June, with Skydance’s Behemoth taking first place in both regions. This success came after “a recent major update and a 50% off sale,” showing how price cuts and new content can boost a game’s popularity. Despite news about Beat Saber ending PlayStation support, the rhythm game still performed well in the VR charts.
Free-to-play games showed interesting regional differences. Splitgate 2 debuted at number one in the US/Canada while Fortnite remained on top in Europe. This regional split is similar to what we see in the PS5 charts, suggesting different gaming preferences between markets.
