The latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 update brings the world of Terminator into the game, but players aren’t all happy about how it works. The event, which started on February 6, 2025, lets players jump into matches to collect skulls and unlock new items for their weapons and characters.

Getting new items in the event is straightforward – players need to play matches and collect skulls. In Multiplayer and Zombies modes, skulls drop from defeated enemies, while in Warzone, players find them in supply boxes. These skulls work like coins that players can trade for new items. To get everything the event offers, players need to collect 315 skulls in total.
The event gives away 13 free items. These include useful things like weapon patterns, the Full Auto Mod attachment, and the War Machine Scorestreak. Players who stick with it and collect all the skulls get a special gun design called “Judgment” for their PP-919 weapon.
But many players who’ve tried the event aren’t impressed. “It’s about as fun as watching paint dry,” says one player named Broadspeed1 on Reddit. Another player, Craig536, thinks the new weapon design is “okay” but feels the other rewards aren’t very exciting.
What’s really gotten players talking is how much the new Terminator character outfits cost. Unlike the game‘s previous Squid Game event, where players could earn character outfits by playing, the two new Terminator outfits (T-800 and Titanium Core) must be bought from the game’s store. Each outfit costs 3,000 COD Points, which players say is too expensive.
The pricing has become an even bigger issue after game data researchers found plans for another outfit that will cost even more – 3,300 COD Points. “We expected something more like the Squid Game event, where we could unlock the outfits by playing. This is disappointing,” says Reddit user Stealthnice.

For players who want to get their rewards quickly, playing the Zombies mode is the best bet. Here, players fight computer-controlled enemies that are easier to defeat than real players, making skull collection faster. Players who prefer fighting other real players can try modes like Face Off Moshpit or Stakeout 24/7, which feature small, fast-paced maps with constant engagements.
Players who bought the premium BlackCell Battle Pass get one extra bonus – a special design for their PP-919 weapon called “Close Range BlackCell.” But this extra reward hasn’t done much to change how players feel about the event’s expensive character outfits.
This is the second time Black Ops 6 has partnered with a popular movie or TV show, following their earlier Squid Game event. The big change this time is that players have to buy the main character outfits instead of being able to earn them through playing, showing a shift in how Call of Duty handles these special events.
