The Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta has been extended by 24 hours, now ending on October 9 at 9AM PT (9:30 PM IST). Players can enjoy Double XP and Double Weapon XP through the end, making it easier to reach the level 30 cap.

A sixth multiplayer map called Toshin has joined the rotation. Set in a Japanese shopping district with a wrecked monorail and bright advertising boards, it offers fresh terrain for combat alongside existing maps Blackheart, Cortex, Exposure, Imprint, and The Forge.

Treyarch has made significant weapon balance changes aimed at aligning Black Ops 7’s time-to-kill (TTK) with Black Ops 6. The Dravec 45 SMG received several nerfs, including reduced fire rate (667 to 652 RPM), lower headshot damage (1.3x to 1.25x), slower aim-down-sight time, and decreased movement speed. The M8A1 marksman rifle now has increased view kick and reduced mobility, pushing players toward more controlled gameplay.

Other weapons got tweaks too. The VS Recon sniper rifle received improved rechamber stability, while the M10 Breacher shotgun gained better handling after firing. A bug with the Ryden 45K’s aiming motion when using the Skeletonized Grip has been fixed.

The beta introduces significant improvements to map flow. Doors on maps like The Forge and Cortex now stay permanently open, auto-door timers have doubled from 2 to 4 seconds, and the minimap visibility radius has been increased. Side wall-jump angles have been widened to reduce accidental forward jumps, and spawn logic has been adjusted to create safer respawn points.

Players can try three “Open” playlists – Open Moshpit, Open Hardcore Moshpit, and Open Search & Destroy. These minimize skill-based matchmaking to prioritize connection quality and varied match outcomes. Treyarch is using this as a test bed to gather data for launch matchmaking decisions.

For PC players, Black Ops 7 requires TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot to be enabled. This security requirement supports Ricochet, the game’s anti-cheat system. Activision reports impressive results, claiming 97% of detected cheaters are banned within 30 minutes, and fewer than 1% of cheating attempts reached a match before removal. The company also states it has contributed to shutting down over 40 cheat developers and resellers since Black Ops 6 launched.

At launch, Activision plans to implement remote attestation using Microsoft Azure to validate PC security settings and prevent spoofing.

For the first time in Call of Duty history, Zombies mode is playable in a beta. The Survival mode on Vandorn Farm map will be available for four days, ending October 7 at 10AM PT. Players can test new features like the Wisp Tea Perk-a-Cola, Fire Works Ammo Mod, and Toxic Growth Field Upgrade. There’s no round cap in the beta, allowing players to aim for high rounds, and Save & Quit will be available for solo players.

To preserve the day-one experience, Easter Eggs and Side Quests won’t be in the beta, but players might find a Ray Gun or Ray Gun Mark II from the Mystery Box. Complimentary GobbleGums will be available during the beta, including new ones like Round Off, Power Vacuum, and Gift Card.

Black Ops 6 players can look forward to Season 6 launching right after the beta concludes, featuring a Predator collaboration and Halloween-themed content.
