Delta Force launched its highly anticipated Season Morphosis on February 3, 2026, delivering transformative content that fundamentally reshapes the tactical shooter experience. This free-to-play update is now available across all platforms, bringing new operators, destructible environments, and player-requested improvements to both Warfare and Operations modes.
The season introduces Vlinder, a Support Operator designed to enhance squad survivability through healing butterfly drones and rescue UAVs. Players can access the new Aftershock map featuring full environmental destructibility, where buildings collapse and seismic events dynamically alter the battlefield. Team Jade has also implemented community-requested features including solo-queue matchmaking for Layali Grove and in-game vehicle customization.
How to Unlock Vlinder
Vlinder (Lina van der Meer) joins Delta Force as a medical support specialist from the G.T.C. Europe Division. The operator is available through the free Season Pass track, making her accessible to all players without premium purchase requirements.
Free Track Access
Vlinder is unlocked through the Season 8 Morphosis Battle Pass free tier. Players gain access by progressing through the Season Pass, which requires earning experience points through gameplay in any mode.
Earn XP Your Way
Progress toward Vlinder by playing Warfare matches, Operations runs, or any game mode. XP is shared across all modes, allowing players to choose their preferred playstyle.
Instant Alternative
Players can purchase Battle Pass levels with Delta Coins (1,500 coins required) for immediate access, though earning through gameplay remains the recommended path for most players.
Vlinder’s Abilities
Nano Medical Dust: Deploys healing drones that lock onto allies and heal through nano-scale medical particles. Short press targets teammates, long press provides self-healing.
Remote-Controlled Smoke Grenade: Throws smoke grenades with gesture-based guidance for precise tactical control.
Butterfly Rescue Drone System (Ultimate): Releases rescue drones within a 55-meter radius that automatically seek downed allies to administer plasma injections and perform cardiac pacing revivals.
Vital Signs Monitoring (Passive): Extends downed timers in Operations. In Warfare, reviving teammates reduces ultimate cooldown.
Fiery Owl Hunt: Play as the Boss
Fiery Owl Hunt introduces a complete perspective flip where players control warlord Saeed instead of hunting him. According to Ricky, Game Design Director at Team Jade: “We really want to give the extraction gameplay some fresh air, and instead of letting players loop in the same rules, why not break it?”
Signature Weaponry
Wield Saeed’s Fire Bow and utilize enhanced Tactical Roll ability with greater agility than standard operator movement.
Squad Command
Form a Boss Squad with up to two friends playing as elite guards, recreating authentic squad-based pressure.
AI Alliance System
AI Ahsarah Guards become allies, providing intel on enemy positions instead of attacking the player-controlled Saeed squad.
Fire Bow
Saeed’s signature weapon delivers devastating ranged attacks with explosive capabilities.
Enhanced Mobility
Tactical Roll ability provides far more flexibility than standard operators, enabling aggressive repositioning.
Environmental Awareness
Allied AI units provide tactical intelligence on hostile player locations across the map.
Fiery Owl Hunt features its own progression and reward system. Players complete Boss-perspective tasks to unlock exclusive rewards and narrative content.
Exclusive Rewards
Unlock unique items including a customizable melee weapon with multiple visual upgrades and inspection animations.
Narrative Content
Experience Saeed’s backstory through mission progressions. Operator Designer Brant notes: “When you really stand in Saeed’s perspective, the plot is not just background setting anymore.”
Fiery Owl Reputation
Accumulate reputation through performance to increase rank and unlock additional exclusive content.
Ecosystem Balance
Level Designer Seth explains the mode’s strategic depth: “When the teams with heaviest firepower are attracted by Saeed and fighting in one area, it creates a ‘vacuum’ in other parts of the map. This gives the players who don’t want to fight head-on β who just want to focus on looting β a safer window to operate.”
