Marvel Cosmic Invasion launched on December 1, 2025, bringing arcade-style beat ’em up action to PC and consoles. Developed by Tribute Games and published by Dotemu in collaboration with Marvel Games, the game delivers tag-team combat across cosmic battlefields. The 15-character roster spans Earth heroes and galactic warriors, all fighting against Annihilus and the Annihilation Wave threatening the galaxy.

The game’s Cosmic Swap system lets players select two heroes per level and switch between them instantly during combat, creating unique combos and strategic possibilities. Available on Steam for $29.99, the title also launched day-one on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Console versions released simultaneously on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S.

Tribute Games designed each character with distinct movesets and abilities. The Cosmic Swap tag-team mechanic encourages experimentation with different hero combinations throughout the campaign. Players can switch characters mid-combo to extend attack chains and discover synergies between Earth-based and cosmic heroes.

The game features both Campaign Mode and Arcade Mode. Campaign Mode offers a complete story experience based on Marvel’s Annihilation comic event, while Arcade Mode provides additional challenge through unlockable modifiers. Both modes support local and online co-op for up to four players, with adaptive difficulty that scales based on party size. Recent gaming developments include updates to Helldivers 2’s Python Commandos Warbond and insights on the gaming industry from GTA creator Dan Houser.
